The iPad Files app collects AI exports, GitHub downloads, iCloud Drive docs, AirDrop files, and shared notes. It can store Markdown, but a rendered reading view needs the right viewer.

Use Md Preview from the iOS Share Sheet or Files app to open the Markdown file locally on iPhone or iPad.

Long-press the Markdown file in Files on iPad, tap Share, choose Md Preview, and read the rendered document locally.

Before opening

Use this for local .md, .markdown, .mdx, .rmd, and .qmd files.

Users who open Markdown files often need HTML too. Html Preview is the related viewer for that file type.
